50 KOREAN ACTORS TO LOVE
#14 - Kim Myung-min
KMM is an actor who takes his work very seriously — so seriously, in fact, that sometimes he even goes up and above what is expected of him. He’s the kind of actor who is known to have dropped 40 lbs. for a role as a dying patient. He’s the kind of actor who can pull off both heavy and comedic roles comfortably. He’s the kind of rare actor who takes on challenges to push himself to the limit.
I have so much love for this guy. Not only has he blown me away in the majority of his projects with his more-than-convincing acting, there’s something about him that draws you in and makes you keep trudging even through the dull parts.
The hilarious “Bad Family,” the riveting political drama “White Tower,” the certainly intriguing “Beethoven Virus" — these dramas arguably owe their success to KMM. His film "My Love By My Side" was intensely moving. His other movie projects "Man of Vendetta" and "Detective K" have both proven to be box office hits. I could rave on and on in praise for him.
I can only hope that more actors follow suit and draw inspiration from KMM. In the meanwhile, his performances will continue to amaze me.
